Gryphon Woods
Gryphon Woods is the capitol city of Enchantica. Locals often refer to it simply as "The Village." Its proximity to the castle has made Gryphon Woods grow tremendously. What was once a humble settlement with a few houses and a couple of shops is now a thriving community.
The people that choose to live here do so for the bustling marketplace, closeness to the castle proper, the busy main harbor, the kingdom-renowned inn, and the central Empire location. All roads do indeed lead to Gryphon Woods. As such, a more ecclectic group of people, you'll likely not find.
The open land surrounding the village is rich and fertile. Farmers tend to crops of oats, wheat, barley, corn, and other important staples. Many residents of the village keep their own household gardens as well and some enjoy livestock as well. The Fraser Forest borders Gryphon Woods village on one side providing much needed timber to the town as well as the rest of the Empire.
Along the northern edge of the capitol is the harbor. Fishing these waters provides many villagers with their livlihood. Often ships of the Royal Navy can be found here as well. Ferries cross the channel to Aeren several times a day.
The market square is a very popular meeting point. It is here that one can find shops of nearly every persuassion. A very popular seamstress shop, an alchemy shop, a store filled with general goods, a blacksmith, and several other buildings line the square. Of course, we would be remiss not to mention the famous The Pig and Whistle Inn (with rare indoor bathing available!) and The Fickle Lady Tavern. Both host a constant stream of travellers and visitors.
If you visit Gryphon Woods and find the people to be as generous and welcoming as most do, there is still plenty of space to make this your very own home.
