F.A.Q.s, Facts, and Mostly Facts

First of all, welcome! We're glad to have you! I'm Keiren, and I and my lovely wife, Adara, will be leading you along what we like to lovingly call...'the quick and dirty guide to EC'...so come on, this won't hurt a bit.

  • To begin with, What is an 'EC'?

    Glad you asked. 'EC' is slang, a shortened way of saying Enchanted Castle. When we began...oh those many years ago, it was just a castle, basically. Over the last decade, we've grown, from humble keep, to vast empire. Many of us really old chatters still use 'EC' though, just as habit.

  • Okay, so, What Can I Play Here?

    Anything you like. Who are we to dictate to you, the writer, what you must be? Having said that, we do really stick to weak to moderate characters here, so no sons of Satan, or Dragonball Z power players, will fit in...

  • So I can play an angel-demon-fairy-unicorn with troll blood, who is a bartender, and is secretly a princess and is an empath and can levitate?

    Yes.

    But we will laugh at you.

  • So what is 'weak to moderate' for a character? I don't wanna be a wuss.

    Well, look at it like this. A dumb as rocks peasant is a zero. A God is a ten. Most of us are zero to four, maybe a five, occasionally...It all fosters the need to work together, and makes for much better play.

  • What about races?

    The sky is the limit. Most of us are elves, fairy, humans, dragons, or some combo of those in half breed form. We've had ogres, orcs, shifters, etc...we're really pretty open to ideas.

  • What Can't I Do?

    Massive destruction without my ooc permission. No force killing or hits. We reserve the right to kill you icly, but we have an army, and if you insist on writing yourself into real ic trouble, logic will dictate what happens to you.

  • But where IS Enchantica?

    It used to be part of the lands near present day Wales and England. Sensing the coming of Christianity, and the changes of the world, it was magically sealed off, to protect it. It's a fairy tale, come to life, and hidden away in the mists, just waiting to be found.

  • I want to be evil! A mastermind! Muhaha..

    Talk to one of us iin PM, and we'll work something out. Maybe.

  • I want to attack EC and level it with my demon army!

    No thanks.

  • What if my army is orcs?

    Still, no thanks. We happen to like rping stories that go beyond slaughter and whole realm destruction.

 

Now, For a Quiz!

1. So we all know EC began as a castle under Sage and Sauron, one that grew, evolved and changed over time. Currently, it is located within the capitol city of Gryphon Woods. Where did the name for the city come from?

a. Blythe. She's always naming things. Everyone knows how she is.
b. Adara. She looooves words that start with G.
c. The two headed Gryphons that protect the realm.
d. It's all Athena's fault.

Answer: D! That's right, blame Athena. The empress gave her sister Athena a county, the closest one, in fact to the castle itself, pressed right up beside the gardens and lake. Athena's county was named Gryphon Woods. Over time, a village sprang up there, and grew into the capitol city it is today.

2. You've been gone for some time from Enchantica, how will you most likely find yourself making the return trip into her borders?

a.By ship, silly. It's an island, after all.
b. By mule train, cause thats how I roll.
c. By bathtub, well, or pond.
d. By dragon-back, I travel in style. Nothing but the best for me.

Answer: C! That's right. Ever since putting the protective barrier of magics around the Empire, people who don't yet have the mark of citizenship arrive in the oddest of manner, most commonly emerging into the closest body of water.

3. Eleor Danneskjold, one half of our Elven Mage Wonder Duo has a talent, that only a few have ever seen. What is it?

a. juggling. things. on fire.
b. pick pocketing. Hey, a mage has to eat!
c. wine making. A vintner in secret!
d. Seducing travelers into games of chance. Ante up!

Answer: A! For an ice mage, our guy sure can toss the flaming sticks. And brands. And goats. Not really. No goats. The rest is 87% true.

4. Adara, ever enterprising, has a line of businesses, seperate from her dealings of state. The location of those businesses are in Gryphon Woods, Aeren, and Caran. What is the name of the business?

a. Adara's Taco Shop. Tacos. Good.
b. Al'thor Flowers and Cards, for all your blue blood gift giving needs.
c. The Black Triangle, Spies 'R Us.
d. The Spicy Rack, a line of tapas bars with well endowed 'servers'.

Answer: A! Really. Best salsa ever.
